My name is Michael and I am a Romanian man raised in the USA by my adoptive parents. My father was a doctor and I always enjoyed hearing his stories of helping people and helping in his practice when I got older. I knew that this was exactly the goal I had to set for myself, but was daunted by the path that studying medicine meant.
My grades weren’t spectacular and I struggled with subjects like Chemistry. Not exactly the best prerequisites for beginning medical studies. Not to mention the exorbitant costs of med school in the US compared with the cost to study medicine in Europe.
So, I did some research as to what options were open to me. To my surprise, there are actually very good schools where you can study medicine in Europe, and a lot of them even accept you based in part on an entrance exam. If I could study hard enough, perhaps this would be my ticket to med school. I ultimately decided that I wanted to study medicine in Romania. This way I would be able to not only fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor, but also I would be able to experience student life in Romania.
But first I decided that I needed to be better prepared for my studies. After my mediocre performance in school, I knew I needed to do something before I started my my journey to study medicine in Europe, so I wouldn’t be completely lost.
Thankfully, I found the London Medical Academy and was convinced their course would help me refresh my knowledge. I didn’t expect it to be so much work, but in hindsight, it was the best thing I could’ve done. The course motivates every student to take responsibility and to study and learn in class but also on their own. There’s a lot of material, but also a lot of tools to help you learn.
Once I completed the course and started studying medicine in Cluj-Napoca, I realized that not only did the course increase my theoretical knowledge and give me a good start in that regard, it actually taught me about myself and how I can study efficiently.
I’m currently in my last year of medical studies and am doing well, thanks to the pre-med course. I can definitely recommend anyone wanting to study medicine in Europe, or anywhere in the world, to take a pre-med course. It’s sure to give you a leg up on the competition for one of the highly desired study places, and it will help you grow as a student, ensuring that once you begin your studies you are able to learn effectively and succeed!
