The Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Turin is one of the oldest in the world. The University of Turin was founded in 1404, and the Faculty of Medicine followed in 1436. Many famous researchers and Nobel laureates have studied and researched at the prestigious institute, such as Salvador Luria, Renato Dulbecco and Rita Levi-Montalcini, all having received Nobel Prizes for medicine and psychology.

With new English language courses, the University of Turin has opened its doors to more international students, giving them the opportunity to study medicine in Turin at this historic site. 100 students are admitted each year, 30 of whom come from outside Europe.

Due to the limited group size, high quality and individual attention by the teaching staff is guaranteed. The six-year course in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Turin takes place entirely in English with classrooms located at the University Hospital San Luigi Gonzaga.

The study of medicine in Turin, which is divided into 12 semesters, combines academic and clinical semesters as well as interactive teaching methods. Students who are interested in scientific research can set individual priorities. Due to the proximity of teaching and research as well as the clinic building, the contact between students and teachers is particularly encouraged. This allows for practical training, based on the latest research, and prepares the participants early on the real workday of a doctor.
